. Transformers: The Ultimate Battle .

The much awaited theme park attraction, Transformers: The Ride, is finally opened for operation at USS after 4 years in the making! Last Friday saw the world premiere of the ride where guest star, world-acclaimed Hollywood producer, Mr Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon, Pearl Habour), made his grand entrance in a yellow 2010 edition of the Chevrolet Camaro sports car. Yes, get this – Transformers: The Ride at USS is the first of its kind in the world as the next attraction will only be unveiled in Universal Studios Hollywood next April/May!

Taking on the role as vulnerable NEST recruits, all riders will be assisting the Autobots to protect a part of the Allspark. Be prepared to fight alongside with Optimus Prime and Bumblebe against the evil Megatron and Starscream and be in the center of the heart-stopping action! Don the 3D glasses and see the movie comes to LIVE!

In case if you do not know, I’m a huge fan of the movie series and it was such a privilege to be 1 of the “guinea pigs” to have ridden on the Transformers ride even before it was officially launched! Well, to put it nicely, we took a risk when the ride was in its final ‘technical rehearsal’ stage. I had such a mind-blowing experience on The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman ride in Universal Studios Japan (the predecessor of 3D action-packed rides) that I knew that I would be in for bigger things with the Transformers. True indeed, I was so impressed that I went back to the queue (at least a 30mins wait) to take the ride for the 2nd time!

The digital effects are so realistic and there were moments when we had water  sprayed on us, and felt heat emitting from a fire ball that was thrown into our direction. My favourite scene was when we plummeted down 30 storeys at high speed before Bumblebee came in time to prevent us from crashing into pieces. My counterparts were screaming their heads off. Awesome!

Even my granny enjoyed herself tremendously. And mind you, she is 81 yrs old this year and I reckon that she must be the oldest person to ride Transformers: The Ride! Yes, I have the coolest granny! 🙂

Get ready to fight the battle against the evil Decepticons as you ride with Evac, a new Autobot character that was created specially for this attraction.

Thanks to a guy who loved the ride so much that he decided to go against the ruling (no filming allowed within the premises) and record the entire ride, you now have a glimpse into the action world of the Transformers!

Kingda Ka, New Jersey

As much as I enjoy immersive rides like Transformers and Spiderman, nothing gives me a rush of adrenaline as much as high speed thrill coasters! The Battlestar Galactica Human Vs Cyclon roller coaster at USS was nothing short of amazing (after all, it is the most thrilling coaster on our tiny red dot) but my triple experience with the Ride of Steel at Darien Lake wins hands down. The record: A plunge from a height of 63m at 117km/hr!

Travelling at a max speed of 206km/hr and plunging from 139m, Kingda Ka is the world’s tallest and 2nd fastest roller coaster in the world! And double the excitement as compared to the Ride of Steel! The ride of a lifetime on the Kingda Ka (closed till 2012) is a MUST-DO on my list before I turn wrinkled and pruny!

p/s: MK, you can’t escape! :p
