. a healthy breakfast for the boy .



This morning, I whipped up a healthy breakfast for the boy by preparing a bowl of Highlanders Rainbow Rice topped with egg (a must-have for breakfast!) and oriental sausage. Made up of 7 ingredients – brown rice, buckwheat, mung beans, black glutinous rice, chinese barley, shitake mushrooms and seaweed – , this nutritious yet tasty bowl of rainbow congee was easily prepared under 20 minutes! Being the cooking dummy that I am, I left the stove burning while I continued blogging away (I’m a blog addict!) thus resulting in a slightly burnt lump of so-called porridge. Failure! I foresee that the boy will have to continue eating bowls after bowls of rainbow congee till I finally perfect cooking this simple dish! LOL.
