Buddhism: Miranda and husband, Orlando Bloom, practice a Japanese form of Buddhism, which she began studying at a very young age. She explains, “I practice Nichiren Buddhism, chant regularly, meditate and do yoga regularly. Inner peace and inner beauty is very important to me. I don’t like to talk too much about it, but what I will say is that it is very grounding and really centering.”
Yoga: She has studied hatha yoga for more than 10 years and says, “Yoga is so important to me. I’ve been doing it for a long time now and I’ve taken it to a fairly serious level. My teachers tell me they’ve never seen a back bend like mine! It’s just so invigorating to massage all the internal organs and drain all the toxins out of your body.” .
Meditation and Affirmations: “Through yoga, I became interested in meditation and positive affirmations. My favourite is: ‘I am a vibrant being of love and light.’ How beautiful is that?”
Organic Eating: Miranda is so passionate about organic food, she studied health and nutrition for 18 months at the Academy of Natural Living in Cairns. When she is on location she requests a case of Fiji water, noni juice, goji berries, green tea, peppermint tea, gluten-free muesli, fruit, raw almonds, tamari roasted almonds, almond milk, kombucha goat’s milk and goat’s milk youghurt. But she IS human, she also needs a big bowl of chocolate Lindt balls. Thank God (or Buddha).
Skincare: Miranda has recently launched an organic skincare line called Kora by Miranda Kerr. The name Kora comes from the core of self and the products are filled with her beloved noni juice, which is derived from a shrub in Tahiti. She says, “I’ve been drinking noni juice for the last 12 years, my grandparents introduced it to me. I am not the same without it – it does incredible things for my skin.”
Zen Travel: With her schedule taking her all over the world, Miranda has a special routine to keep her refreshed and picture perfect when she lands. She explains, “I drink noni juice and lots of water before, during and after the flight and I try to do some yoga on the plane if I can. I’ll also meditate and listen to Deepak Chopra on my iPod and just focus on my breath… all of this rejuvenates me.”
