Ask Me Questions

How long have you and your boyfriend been together?
We got together on 1st Jan 2008, so that makes it 4yrs and counting at current posting.

When are the both of you getting married?
Definitely, not any time soon! We each have big dreams that we would like to accomplish before settling down. My idea of a perfect, intimate wedding!

What camera(s) do you use?

Unfortunately, my camera is currently in a state of coma as I had accidentally dropped it during 1 of my exploration trip. Hence, I’m using a combination of cameras at the moment. My boyfriend’s Canon Powershot SX1 IS, my mother’s Olympus Mju-9000 Compact digital camera and my toy camera – Superheadz Nico Digi. Just a disclaimer here, this is not a photography blog although we sure wish to pick up some photography skills in the future!

What program do you use to edit your pictures and fonts?
Mainly Photoscape & Adobe Photoshop to edit the pictures, and Polyvore to create the fanciful fonts.

Why do you enjoy being a tourist in your own country?
It is often said that Singapore is a very boring country, with nothing much to offer. On the contrary, I think that there is actually a lot that we can do on our tiny island. Popular places of attraction aside, there are many nooks and crannies that will satisfy your appetite for excitement. Sure, some of these places might be off-the-beaten-track and it will take awhile to find its location but trust me, it’s worth the effort and time. All you need is a sense of adventure! Of course, I’m also thankful to have a wonderful boyfriend who shares the same interest as me! :)

What do you like to do during your free time?
Exploring Singapore. Documenting about my life via blogging. Catching up with friends in a quaint cafe. Attending inspiring talks by local entrepreneurs and art galleries/exhibitions. And my new-found love, swimming! Too little time and too many things to do on my checklist.

My name is Joanne and I’m a final year student from NTU (Communication Studies) doing a final year project on dying trades in Singapore. The project is an interactive website.

My groupmates and I are actually looking for photos of people doing dying trades, as we have a part of the website that is based on contributions of photos from the public.

I came across your photo of the fortune teller and I was wondering if you were willing to contribute your photo to our website? We will credit the photo accordingly. (:

Please do feel free to email me at joannecht89@gmail.com if you do have any queries.

    Thank you!

    Regards,
    Joanne

  14. Hi!

I found a blog post of yours that dates back to october 2009 regarding the butterfly house. You had some pictures of the Butterfly House with credits to MK. I am wondering whether you have more pictures of the house or a contact to MK so that I can request for pictures. I am actually gathering pictures for a family friend that lived in the butterfly house for quite some years. Hope it won’t be too much of a trouble!
