.Happy 6 months.

June 30, 2008 · 6 Comments

.12 midnight local time.
.1st July 2008.
.Exactly 6 months, baby.

*must play the video as you read the post! adds to the effect lol*

.Just between you & me.

It’s weird to see how things all first started with us. 19th October 2007. Zouk. The first two things I did - spanked you with a whip while u were handcuffed for your 21st and got so intoxicated that I threw up on you lol. So embarrassing and what a “memorable first impression”. I thought such a dramatic beginning only happens in dramas and movies but seems like, it happened in reality for me.

It was just it then. Nothing else happened - after all, I was attached and life goes on without us keeping in touch for about a month. Who knows that through such a pure coincidence that a mutual friend of us would have re-introduced us and that you would have taken the first initiative to ask me out. Just coming out from a previous relationship, I didn’t think I was ready for a go at another relationship … I thought it would just be dating and all in the name of fun.  BUT! “How did you know I needed someone like you in my life? “

The first date at Tea Cozy. The first time we held hands. The first time we hugged. The first kiss at Zouk on 01/01/08. The first time we whipped up a dish together. It’s all coming back vividly to me.

Come on’, anyone who knows me well since ages ago - im never 1 to talk about relationships and commitment. A skeptic and cynic when it comes to love is what most would say of me … But i admit that now, I might just have to eat my own words after knowing you cz my perspective on love changed alot since then. Life’s fabulous & great already with a close-knit family, awesome friends, gd grades, and most things being stable but now, having a certain person in my life makes it all the more meaningful and gives me the inspiration and motivation to work towards certain goals in life. That aside, you’ve taught me so much more on life - I still believe that life’s unpredictable and that no one can ever guarantee a certain ending to life but hey, enjoy it while it lasts. And I know I certainly am with you around.

The first holiday together. Tioman’ May 2008.

The many happy memories with you around …
Seeing how it has all blossomed since 1st Jan 2008. And how you never fail to crack me up, laughing like a mad person just like just now. Hilarious!

I love you Ming Kiat, Stephanie.

.post-exam happiness.

June 30, 2008 · No Comments

Post-exam = Freedom + Relaxation. Weekends, without any worry of not being able to rush through assignments or projects in time.

Thursday:

Finally, done and over with exams. For now, gonna brace myself for yet another 6 weeks :(  Nevertheless, met up for some girlie time with Sara love & Chern Chieh babe. Tea Cozy once again. Antiques and collectable items collected from flea markets for sale, 1-of-a-kind.

Never seen anywhere without our fair share of dessert. Im in love with floral and herbal tea these days.

Ended off with a slpover at yours truly’s place … losta chatting till wee hours of the morning + there’s the extra company of the adorable hamster dearies. Sara darl loves them too.

Friday:

There’s never a year that I haven’t visited the zoo since 2005. And for the 4th time, it’s back to the zoo with sara love. Yes, our sanctuary. I love the zoo - the greenary, landscape, ambiance and of course, what’s a zoo without animals yea?!

Try to spot the huge American Bullfrog!

Looks like a vampire bat eh? Honestly, it freaks me out.

My personal favourite enclosure - Hamadryas Baboons! I could stay there observing the active community of baboons and yet not feel a slightest hint of boredom. Always the key highlight of my trip! It’s always a challenge to drag me away from the enclosure exhibt area …

Babies! Totally irresistable… & playful !

Picking the fleas out for each other. Tell me if you’ve ever seen other animal species doing the exact same thing before lol!

Something to creak you up :P

Another highlight was at the chimpanzee enclosure where I actually spotted the mother chimpanzee patting on her baby and asking her baby to climb onto her back! Almost human-like behaviour, no kid.

The ‘Otters’ enclosure comes close to being my next favourite. Travel in a pack, 1 for all - all for 1. And they even post for pictures! lol.

Can you tell the difference?

The height difference between a polar bear and us. Double my height, impressive!

I love flowers. Cheers me up on any day.

Here’s a tribute to 1 of Singapore’s most beloved icon- Ah Meng.

Here’s the view that comes along with every toilet visit at the Zoo. No other toilet has ever appealed to me as much as the 1s at the zoo or night safari. No surprise that it won the “Best Toilet” award lol.

The fun part of mirrors. So typical.

Met up with MK baby after that. It had been a really busy & hectic week for him at work so here’s a box of champagne chocolate from Royce specially for him. Not surprising, we polished all 20 pieces within 15mins. Such chocoholics that we are lol. Im lusting for chocolates once more …

Saturday:MK baby planned a surprise for us for our upcoming 6th month-versary together! :) A mini- indoor theme golf session at Lilliputt, where we visited 18 of Singapore’s hottest tourist attractions in just 1 single destination! Hey, golf’s not just for old, wealthy man !

http://www.lilliputt.com

Some of the destinations that we visited in that short 1hr+  …

Changi Airport! Take off —

The zoo ….

Haw Par Villa!

Even, MRT … and that MRT actually moves from 1 station to another.

Sentosa …

Jurong Bird Park - they even reconstruct a mini version of the world’s tallest man-made waterfall lol.

Botanical Gardens, with its very own pavillon.

Honestly, like most pple - i would say that golf doesnt appeal to, never ever. But this time round, it’s real fun. Well, there’s no denying that it doesnt require much skill or talent for this but it’s good experience to compete with each other (we’re both super competitive lol) and also, the fact that there’re ”reconstructed places of interest” to accompany you through the journey. Trust me, you would be asking for more lol .. we would have stayed longer and perhaps play an extra round of game had we not been so hungry. I won 10 of the 18 games and tied at 1 with baby unfortunately, it’s not the no. of games that determines the win so baby ultimately beat me by 7 points :(’  to clinch the win! :(’  But Im determined that I still won cz it’s 10 vs 7 games won.

The day couldn’t have been better as we continued to chill at ECP. The strong wind, breeze, soothing sounds of the waves hitting against the shore, greenary, people-watching, and watching the planes at the nearby changi airport taking off … Nothing extravagent, everything’s simple.

Making a wish - our “Lilliputt” ticket attached to the 2 balloons that we got for free …
Freeing them into the sky .

Off they fly to the sky …

In a world of our own, singing to our favourite classics and songs.. and enjoying the company of each other. It’s been a special past 6 months with you around :)

Sunday:

The laziness & relaxation continues - this time round, it’s the pool at Raffles Town Club! My fav. part comes when it’s time for sauna and steam-room… Nothing else that rejuvenates me more after a tired swim. And what a great way to end off what-had-been a relaxing weekend.

It’s every girl’s favourite activity! Shopping time!

For Him:
A new wallet to replace the old one that had been through much wear & tear. It’s his new baby lol.

For Her:
Pretty and rather comfy but it bites me. And that’s when my plaster aid comes in so handy.

Only 6hrs more to 1st July!

Saturday had been awesome! :)  with my hot hot girlfriends - olivia, juliet, camy & lina. The GREAT CLEO swimsuit shoot - which aims to set the national record (420 girls) for the largest ever swimsuit shoot! Please be ready to see a whole lot of pictures. Girls girls, after all.

Fabulous goodie bag with losta goodies - fragrance samples to johnson & johnson baby lotion to lo’real hair products to nestle cereal pack and the list goes on. Well, if the goodie bag doesn’t interest you, i dont know what else would lol. And MK baby stole a couple of items away from me! He’s always stealing the goodies away lol.

Followed by a chilling-out session at Cafe Del Mar. Refreshing cocktails, sand, sea, great music and scenic view - nothing could be better. Love the place, im considering having a belated 21st bdae celebration with the girls there and perhaps book a room on Sentosa too.

What a stroke of luck! We even got the rare opportunity to appear on Fashion TV! :)  Cameo stint for a commercial to promote “Fashion TV”. Yes, ‘WE LOVE FASHION TV !!! ‘. Awesome! Here’s a pic of us with the photographer and the 2 lovely hosts. Ps: I want tina (the lady with the green bikini!) flat tummy man!

Best of it all? The company of my favourite girls! Fun, and yes losta catching up. And even appearing on a global tv channel together. Unfortunately it’s a week of upcoming final project and exams …if not, i will def. spend more time with the girls.

The past week has been “baby’s week” … been seeing him almost daily over the past week. From Father’s day dinner to the collection of accessories from Trixie, to assisting me for the event on Thurs to some weekend loving :)  Well well, it’s weird how sometimes you wouldn’t get bored seeing each other!

Love is when you lost your “eiffel tower” charm and he would go all the way to a bead shop just to find a replacement for you even though it’s not needed. Or when he doesn’t mind taking the time out to run errands for you despite having a hectic schedule himself too. More importantly, for being so understanding and tolerant of my hot-fused tempers. And keeping me in check :) love, love  ♥  ♥  ♥

Come this weekend, it’s gonna be our 6mths together. I wonder what he has in store for us. It’s supposed to be a pleasant surprise!

Now that I finally have more time at hand, Im actually contemplating if I should return to the tuition centre to work temporarily for the last 1 mth or just truly enjoy the little bit of time and shop for wintergear for UB trip? A little bit more cash but more time to relax or get my arse working to earn that cash?!? The latter sounds great and after seeing all the tone fabulous bodies at Sentosa, it’s making me even wanting to exercise even more.

Monday:

Happy Belated Fathers’ Day with family :)  Fine dining dinner at ‘The Dining Room’ at Raffles Town Club. Great food and totally heavenly desserts, can’t ask for more!

Yes, MK was invited too. It’s great when one’s family gets along so well with your favourite man lol. :)

Tuesday:

So sweet of MK baby to help me collect the accessories & vouchers from Trixie cz I was busy &  held up at school.

To top it , a simple card that says it all. In life, not everyone needs a balenciaga bag (though i would love to have a very one of my own one day!) or jewellery from Tiffany & Co. … Just a simple message from you makes my day, just like how i like :) In a wk’s time, it’s gonna be our special 6mth. Time flies.

Love Trixie babe too, gave me these few items for getting her label to be on the fashion show. hand-carved clay earrings imported from USA, pretty! ♥  blue roses, exactly what i love.

Here’s an array of accessories, exclusively from Lequinte. :)  Do drop by her blogshop if you are into quirky and oh-so-romantic accessories! :)  lockets, heart charm inscribed with words. 1-of-a-kind and at reasonable prices too. I love.

Thursday:

Long day at school, stayed till close to 8pm.  t-test, chi-square, regression, everything’s that got to do with statistics - gives me a major headache and honestly, i don’t think i want anything to do with statistics and maths calculations ever. yes, i hate maths. period. Thank god for jocelyn, cherie and krystal who are ever so helpful and initiative. And apologises to Sara love, couldn’t meet up with her at the last-min cz of sch work. Next wk, i’ll make it up to you… that i promise :)

Headed over to Clarke Quay after sch to assist in another event. Totally shagged out and exhausted. I know, an overdose of sweetness as always but i’ve to say that it’s really saccharine sweet of MK  ♥ to head over to help me out with the show & event. Wore a couple of accessories from Lequinte to show Trixie some support :)

Clare, April & me.

Veron was there too! Couldn’t recognise her at first sight!

Dolorosa as well, what a small world. Everyone knows everyone!

Shots of some of the girls.

*stole a pic from agri’s blog- from fascination night*

Finally, decided to tender my resignation for the events job so that I can spend the last mth or so with my loved ones and friends before heading over to UB. There’s only so little time left, hopfully I can make the full use of it.

Saw the cutest trinket ever! Unfortunately, it’s only available in United States. Anyone knows where I can get a similar pendant? thanks!

“i was showering and thinking that i’d want you forever!”

-  As quoted from Jul’s blog … ” Like the editor said “those who learn fast … leave fast”. ” I find it all so true.

- MK finally registered himself for the Bachelor of Arts (Communication) course over at APMI/University of South Australia. Life’s gonna be hectic for him when he starts to juggle between both full-time work & studies. Plus, there’s a possibility that driving could be in the talks too. Does he thinks he’s superman lol? Needless to say, I’m proud that he had taken this step forward. Good thing is that we are both majoring in communications and you know, it’s good to help each other out with assignments and such. Yea, lovelife includes academic stuff at times too lol. HOW INTERESTING eh? haha.

.weekend is over.

June 15, 2008 · 5 Comments

.Friday with Sara love.
I never knew that karaoke sessions can ever be that fun. 3 hours of fun, belting out our fav. hits and songs. And yes, it’s addictive too. Im already planning to head there at least two more times - with sara and MK.

Counting down to the next time we meet once more.

.Saturday.
Guess where baby & i spent a lovely saturday night together at?
yes, nature park @ bishan … prawning!

A hit spot in the heartlands. Packed with people from all ages, you should count your lucky stars if you are able to get a seat for yourself. Seems like prawning is the “new in sport”. Everyone’s doing it - from a young boy who seems no older than 14 yrs old who caught an astonishing 20+ - 30+ prawns to young teenage couples to families with little kids to middle-age people, are you gonna be trying your hand at prawning next lol?

I can foresee that prawning is fast becoming 1 of baby’s pastime.

Full concentration ahead.

Me, on the other hand? Quite frankly, I think I have zero patience when it comes to prawning/fishing … got pretty bored of it very soon. The only time you can see me bursting with energy is whenever he got a caught. The feeling of a catch is simply thrilling.

Yes, our MARVELLOUS catch of the day. 6 prawns. haha. That makes it an expensive $5/prawn lol. Well, I would say not bad for a first try. Perhaps, many more to come.

And we do what we should do with freshly-caught prawns! Cook them!  And dare I say that I never ever tasted prawns this fresh and succulent before. Simply delicious and be sure that I’ll return to prawn one day - just to savour the taste of those prawns once more.

There’s a reason why my weekends are usually awesome.  :)

. A mini project that baby & i did together.
Taking out the ‘guts’ of the watch and replacing it with a lovely vintage background of the Eiffel Tower and tiny beautiful trinkets, i love it.

—————————————————————–

Read an article by Sumiko Tan, “I so want to be happy”. Here are some quotes from the article that I feel that it’s pretty relevant to life and happiness- ” Everything i do, everything i hope for and everything i regret, hinges on the pursuit of personal happiness.” and ” I so yearn to be happy and I so want to be happier. The irony is that this hunger and search for happiness is perhaps the reason i often find myself unhappy.”

I would say on a whole, on a scale from 1 - 10, with 10 being the happiest, i would say that Im generally an 8 when it comes to being happy with my current life. :)  Of course, there would be times whereby I would feel less complete … you know, especially when you have a ‘fat’ day and you feel totally ugly & fat. Just plain unattractive. Or, when you get maligned for something you didn’t do. You get the drift.  On the other hand, my mood shoots up to an immediate blissful 10 whenever Im in great company of loved ones and of course, baby. And yes, having losta fun and not having to care about a single worry at that point of time.

But I got to agree, what Sumiko wrote is pretty much true. Sometimes in life, all we ever want is to be happy and be contented with life but to seek contentment, we go all the way out to meet our own expectations. Be it - to earn more money, to purchase materialistic goods and lavish in the lifestyle of luxury, to find the Right One, to get the perfect dream job, to … … and the list goes on. The bottomline remains at that we have to work at it and the preoccupation with future seems to be ever-lasting. Seems like everytime we achieved a particular goal/aim, we continue to seek further challenging goals because we think that by being able to reach out to those goals, it would make us even happier and more satisfied with ourselves. Basically, a never-ending cycle of pursuit of happiness. After all, as quoted ” happiness doesn’t last”. That is not to say that we shouldn’t have goals in life, but isn’t it true that sometimes it can get pretty exhausting and draining to keep striving for happiness when already, that form of joy could already be right in form of your eyes? I would admit that Im guilty of that too. For instance, it’s a proud moment when you finally graduate from university cz that would mean independence: ability to work and earn moolah to support your lifestyle and get everything that you ever wanted to get. So now, you just purchased your very own car, but you realised that you will be happier had you been able to get your own stylish pad to live in, and when that happens you and you are at the peak of your career - you realised that life would seem to be even more complete if you are able to find the Mr/Miss Right to settle down with, etc… Life’s always about thinking that the future can bring about more happiness but ”it could well be right there, staring at you” at this present moment. Don’t you find that it can be wearing at times to pursue happiness - this endless cycle of it that will never end? Perhaps, the best form of happiness comes when you don’t expect or plan for it. Like how some pple have a life plan of achieving those certain goals at a certain age of their lives, sometimes - it’s better to have goals but just let life lead you to it and not have too much of an expectation. And that could be the form of happiness that you feel as the most memorable and lasting just because it comes about as a pleasant surprise.

Sumiko suggested that “the trick is to learn to live for the moment and appreciate what you have.” That, I believe is said much easier than done. Im one who can get a little obsessed with what the future carries for me - Will I be able to earn sufficient money to support myself in future? Will I get a job that I truly enjoy and yet pay well? You know, questions and more questions which in turn, lead to the occasional bouts of worries. Yes, it can be gruelling and at times, I wish I wasn’t such a worrywart lol. Because worrying equates to being less satisfied in life, and the increase in tendency to find faults. Life’s only this short, Im sure it would be wise to take Sumiko’s advice into serious consideration and just don’t compare our life to others. Comparison will never be healthy if over-used. Having said that, let’s start to truly enjoy life as presented to us at this point of time and even if it’s for a little while, not be occupied with the past or future.

pin-up girls

June 14, 2008 · 1 Comment

Finally done with mgm 404 assignment … at least, that’s 1 burden off for me to enjoy the remaining of my wkends. i got to say that im really satisfied with my overall grade for that module too.   :)

There’s always something alluring about artfully sexy images of famous women. Yes, garter belts, corsets, stockings. But let’s not think of it in the other way. Instead, think icons ”Marilyn Monroe” , “ Betty Grable”, ” Jean Harlow”, ” Rita Hayworth”. All of whom inspire artists around the globe to be fascinated with the painting of pin-up girls. The pin-up girl style is so distinct and gripping that in the olden days, people were so compelled to pull off those artfully done erotic artworks or photographs from magazines and pin them on the wall. Hence, explains the name.

Although the phrase ” sex symbols” is synonymous with pin-up ladies, there’s however no denying that the artworks or illustrations of such pin-up are seemingly so quaint and vintage … Yes, something so enthralling. It’s more than just fascination with near-nudity or in some cases, full nudity but more to it, the artworks of pin-up girls are more of an expression of creativity and beauty , and to me -  it embodies a form of old-fashioned artistry, “an explosion of vibrant beautiful women” with a pinch of playfulness.

. A collage in tribute to Pin-up Girls .

More artworks by 1 of the best pin-up artists, Alberto Vargas.

Off baby & I go for dinner and prawning soon.
