I remember so well
The day that you came into my life
You asked for my name
You had the most beautiful smile

My life started to change
I’d wake up each day feeling alright
With you right by my side
Makes me feel things will work out just fine

How did you know
I needed someone like you in my life
That there’s an empty space in my heart
You came at the right time in my life

I’ll never forget
How you brought the sun to shine in my life
And took all the worries and fears that I had
I guess what I’m really trying to say
It’s not everyday that someone like you comes my way
No words can express how much I love you

“So true, my screen’s full of cases and files but my mind’s so full of you baby”
.MK.

Been extremely busy lately with both group assignments and the planning & preparation of upcoming club/corporate events… finally, some time to relax and to organise the pictures for blogging.
And MK just started operational work at the police centre - that means, it’s going to be a much more hectic schedule for him too. busy, busy, busy.

More updates on pups!

I REALLY love the following pictures - reminds me of little piglets sucking on their mother’s tits!

Look at all the tiny pups lining up neatly in a row for their turn to feeding time.

And pics that were taken just a couple hours’ ago! Realise that the size of the hamster pups increases drastically just within days?!

The odd one that stands out: Only 1 white/cream pup in the midst of all the other 11 dark colour syrian pups! lol. it’s definitely gonna be a keeper for us both. :)

Unfortunately, 1 of the pup didn’t make it and passed away last Sunday. Although it’s just a little life that I hardly even got the chance to interact and play with - it still hurt a little to me to know that one of the pup had moved on. Afterall, I’ve seen them through the past 1 wk thus far and it would be inevitable that I feel a sense of belonging towards all the tiny pups. Anyway, there’s still 12 healthy pups that are very much kicking and alive - can’t help but to nickname them “bui bui” as they grow fatter and bigger with each passing day lol. I suppose that they received their “size genes” from Fat Girl lol.

Dorothy: Yes, certainly will keep two for you :)
Cherie: Rmr to help me ask your bro regarding the hamster pups, thanks!

WORK, WORK, WORK …

Weekend had been spent attending the final rehearsal as well as meeting up with sponsors for discussions and the collection of vouchers. Yes, freebies for the fashion show’s door gifts & lucky draws … don’t you just enjoy working for events?! lol.

Facial goodies: free advanced Vita C facial :)  or alternatively, free radiowave tummy-trimmer lol. I need a good pampering facial one of these days man.. skin’s getting outbreak of pimples and looking haggard due to stress and lack of sleep.

Complimentary Pampered Divas Manicure (worth $25) free for those lucky ones! Comes complete with a full body massage (massage chair), blockbuster movie to entertain yourself on your very own portable DVD player, and perhaps even free cocktails on the house! And everyone gets $10 discount off any nail services.

A range of sample eye-shadows from our Official Make-Up Label !!!
Pretty & strong colours eh?

Rehearsal on Saturday at Fashion Bar. It’s been a month of hard work, so hopefully the event will be a success and that our efforts would be rewarded. Only 1more day to the event!

- Saturday -

im loving dresses more these days, here’s a perfect 1 in white that’s my current love.

A pleasant surprise: Flowers from baby !!!
i love them - he knows that i adore white lilies. Thanks baby- the flowers made my day :)  getting me flowers for no particular reason or occasion, that’s what that makes it all the more special.

Dinner at Central, Clarke Quay … and once again, we couldn’t resist jap food. The time whereby I felt like a total workaholic lol* Not being able to have a peaceful dinner with baby as Im constantly on the phone - either calls or smses- with the sponsors and my boss… having to be the ‘middle-man’ to deal with last-min issues and changes.

Singapore Arts Festival:

Water Fools
Ilotopie (France)
Part of the Water Wonders Series

Yes, being the typical Singaporean - we couldn’t help but to go ahead to Boat Quay to catch the opening act for the Singapore Arts Festival. Reason behind it? Not because we are some artsy-fartsy couple.. but because it’s free entertainment - so why not?! Yes, all so typical. Hence, that also explains the massive number of people who turned up for the event. As a result, we couldn’t get to see much of what was happening on the river (could only see heads and more heads in front of us) .. which was a pity considering the fact that papers had reported the act to be “an amazing spectacular which transformed the Singapore River into a watery stage for poetic show of floating water creatures and giant mechanical sets!”. Nevertheless, it was worth all the squeezing and hassle as the show ended off with a climax of dazzling fireworks in the sky. Nothing beats watching a series of fireworks being launched into the sky with a loved one in your arms …

Such fantastically extravagent fireworks displays:

.moments to ourselves.

Dessert at Ben & Jerry … terribly sinful but tell me, can you resist creamy rich ice-cream topped with whipped cream and m&m chocolates ?!?

Happened to walk past a pushcart selling this couple t-shirt! Nope, we didn’t get it for ourselves - too old for such lovely-dovey couple t-shirts lol but decided to take a pic snap of it cz that’s exactly how we felt!

And yes, I love you baby!

So much things & responsibilities to do and handle. As I plan out my schedule, I realised that all I want is a moment to breathe and relax and not to be constantly involved in everything that Im committed to. Im exhausted and mentally drained .. needing a moment just for myself and no one else.

Life’s great, I love the way that it’s turning out for me thus far.

Updates on the pups:

5 days old! To my utter surprise, I counted extra pups! should be around 12-13 as last counted. Quite an unexpected shock … never thought that it would be such a huge litter. Almost all of them have dark colour pigmentations .. so my guess would be that it will be a litter of majority silver grey hamsters (just like their parents). So far, only spotted a couple with light colour pigments so perhaps a cream/white hamster? Baby wants a cream syrian - he thinks they look like a mini version of teddy bears lol! Being there for their growing up process, I know that it will be difficult for me to part with them when they finally leave for loving homes when they are older … seeing how they cuddle together, play and wrestle amongst one another, jumping onto their mummy for more milk, it’s all about fostering closer bonds with all the pups.

Poor Mummy, needing a rest and break for herself. Certainly, I feel that I’ve grown much closer to Fat Girl - seeing how she’s always feeding them 24/7 … and even if she were to have a break for herself, it usually lasts an average of 5mins of slp or 2mins of gathering food for herself before she scurry back to her nestling to be with her pups again. Really shows me how powerful mother’s love can be, even in animals - the desire to want to be with their kids, and providing them with the basic needs & safety overrules everything else even if they are already so shagged, exhausted and drained of energy.

If you were to look carefully, you can even spot her really obvious nipples that seem rather swollen - i think due to the constant sucking on her tits for milk from her litter of ~ 12/13 pups! Sometimes, I feel like I should do more to help out considering that she’s a one-man show to all her lil’ pups.

Healthy diet just for the Mother: parsley, tou miao, toufu, egg, beans, hamster food.

——————————————————————-

And, i just received a pleasant surprise yesterday night during the meeting with the events company when I found out that my boss has been generally pleased with my performance and decided to ‘promote’ me to a more mangerial position whereby I’ll most probably get more responsibilities such as handling & over-seeing the range of events that the company will be organising, ranging from clubs to social dating to corporate. More details will be revealed after ‘Fascination Night @ Fashion Bar’ on Thursday. Not bad, considering that I just joined the company about a mth back! :)  And while the job is no piece of cake, i would say that Im loving it … improving on my people relation skills , closing sponsorship deals, networking with sponsors and learning business tips from them, coming up with ideas/suggestions to jazz up events. It helps too when you have understanding & motivating boss and colleagues. so yea!

Well, life’s about making priorities and sacrifices - so, mine’s no different. Decided to tender my resignation at the tuition centre on weds (so next week would be my last day with the kids) - after much consideration, I figured out that with this semester’s hectic schedule .. it’s better to give up on one thing so that I can devote more time and effort on my studies, events management job and personal life.

Finally … …

Some random posting before I head out for school and meeting for events planning.

MSN web-cam with baby last night, he’s trying to act “all so romantic” lol. successful? hmmm.

‘All the Love in the Air’ is making me tempted to get yet again another locket necklace. This time round, this locket even has a hidden key in it. Tell me, where’s all my money going to???! Yes, to all these pretty little accessories that I find so difficult to resist. Temptations, temptations.

This song is a pretty huge hit amongst many bloggers, and i love it too.
“Im Yours” by Jason Mraz …

From http://babyflite.livejournal.com, I LOVE the apartment that she’s sharing with her husband. Basically, epitomise the ideal of modern chic living space. glass-concept apartment. minimalist & modern. Living by the waters. great city-landscape views. And to always be greeted with such a breath-taking view every morning when you are awake. Certainly, nothing short of amazing.

Now, now. When’s my turn to ever live in such a stylish apartment?

2nd day:
A pic of 5 of the pups. Look at the one on the extreme left: It has its mouth open really wide, how adorable lol. Baby and I have named them *Tentatively* “jellybeans” :p  joy, joy, happiness!

Back to School, and yes back to academic stress. Only this time round, it’s worst than spring semester. There’s a reason why most of us get sooo stressed up over summer semester - 2 modules to be completed within the first 6wks, followed by another 2 modules to be done by the next 6wks … so basically, it’s rushing a usual 14wks semester of work into 6wks. So far, a terrible start to the first day of school - been having a rather bad headache the entire day .. totally drained of energy and sleep. Lack of ability to concentrate and pay attention in class. Just sheer exhaustion.

Tight & Hectic schedules for the 1st half of the summer semester:

Marketing Research
Syllabus for MGM 403 is almost a total repeat of COM300. Seriously, shouldn’t we be learning something new for this semester instead of taking a module which is a repeat of something that we had just done the previous sem?! Honestly got to be a nightmare. we took the entire of 14wks to conduct our various questionnaires, surveys, interviews and focus group discussions, alongside with research work and now, we are only given a mere 6wks to do all that and with lesser manpower!!!! Talk about the hustle and rush that we have to undergo .. yes, i know im being such a pain-in-the-ass with my constant complaints and nagging. I guess, it’s just the negative vibes influenced by the headache that im currently suffering from.

Consumer Behaviour

Im envious of my friends who are enjoying their not 3wks but 3-4 mths holidays - sure, some of whom have internships and have to work every wkday but hey, work experiences sure beats having to attend classes and committing to those ever-piling group assignments, projects and exams. Plus, there’s always the after-work hours and wkends for you guys to chill and relax. Im determined to make my social life work out.

Cashing on the trend of blogging. reasons behind blogging.

Xiaxue: could earn up to $1000/day! gosh, thats alot of money she has!!
Dawn Yang: earning anywhere between $4000 - $6000/mth
Sabrinna Ong: $1500 - 2000
Peggy Heng: $500 - $2000

And yes, all of whom earn all that amount through just blogging! For the majority of us, we probably have to work our arse off for a few years or even more than just a couple of years and inject in lotsa hard work and effort in order to even earn that $4K-6K/mth but Ms Dawn Yang gets all that just by posting up pictures of herself with her pals, clubbing, travelling overseas and having advertisements plastered on her website … Impressive, eh?! What happened to those days where people actually have to work to earn their salary lol? In fact, ”Singaporeans come up as the top bloggers regionally” who registered with Google to have ads plastered on their blogs for the extra income. Is making money through blogging such an established and widely accepted practice these days? Or would it be a “fly-by-night” thing? I do understand if highly successful blogs have ‘ads’ listed on their site - who would give up the chance to make moolah right? But how about those whose blogs have readership that remain average - are they hoping to earn that extra bit of cash too or just purely a case of following the trend? Seems like to me (no offence to anyone) that most bloggers jump onto this ‘advertising through blogging’ wagon only because it’s such a hot & current trend now - since that’s what everyone is doing why not, maybe a case of peer/online societal influence? … After all, that’s what the most popular blogs are doing, and they must be doing something right so why don’t I register with a particular online ad company and do the “right” thing too?

In addition, this article makes me ponder about the reasons behind the success of some of these blogs that attract such a high rate of readership. Sure, I do believe that for some of those blogs, they do have substantial value and often have unique selling points - say, ‘a fashion insider to having a fashion shop  which shows us how concepts of designing the apparels are put into application … and how is it like to manage a retail business and to ensure its success and popularity amongst consumers ’ or a food critic blog which certainly is a great directory for many of us to find the best food haunts in Singapore *im guilty of that too* … But, I’ve also come across many comments from people that some of the most popular local blogs have not much content in them … just lots of pictures of them clubbing & partying non-stop and hitting the hottest waterholes in town. Or countless of self-portrait shots of themselves. According to those who commented, they feel that these blogs lack of substance … and purely, just portray these party-goers as wasting their lives away. Perhaps. but I suppose that at the end of the day, no matter how much some people bitched & gossiped about how superficial these blogs are and that these bloggers are just “bimbos/airheads” … we cannot deny that as human beings, we fall into the trap of being dazzled and bewildered by the lifestyles of the rich & famous & beautiful … it becomes almost inevitable that we, as ordinary citizens, are enchanted by the lifestyles that are deemed more impossible to attain. So, as dumb as it might sound to read up about the lifestyles of others - it’s however true that when something is being more portrayed as glitzy and fabulous … we just can’t help ourselves but get enthralled by it.

Juliet beat me to the punch and wrote about her views regarding blogging and I find her piece quite intriguing - Do bloggers and blog readers have way too much time at hand? Why do people blog? To share their latest happenings with their friends? To pen down their thoughts and emotions? Fame is exciting, hence to get their 15mins of fame online? Make their online presence more prevalent? To purely follow the trend since it’s the in-thing? There’s a list of countless reasons why one would blog.

Personally … Being a self-confessed techno-idiot (which most of my friends would agree likewise), I would admit that when blogging first became popular and a phenomenon, I was skeptical of how this trend would be able to last in this world of ever-changing technology. In fact, never in my life would I ever thought of jumping onto the ‘blogging’ wagon … In my mind, I was wondering who the heck wants to let the world know about their personal life, feelings and emotions … wouldn’t a handwritten journal suffice better as a diary? and why in the world would they want others to ‘invade into their privacy/personal space’ … Besides, would anyone actually be so bored to want to read up about the lifestyles of others when they are already so occupied with lives of their own?!

So, it’s really such an irony that I decided against my initial mindset and set up my very own blog this year. In the end, I ended up having to eat my words man. The motivation behind it? To document my journey with the special Mr Ming Kiat - and I dare say that Im proud of our relationship and thus, would like to share my happiness with him to my friends. It’s so different from my previous r/s where I felt the need to keep numb about it most of the time and when my friends asked about it, I usually prefer to provide just very superficial details and not indulge in more. Basically, it was a rather low-profile r/s that I rather not talk about. But this time round, it’s so different - almost a complete 180 degrees to how I felt back then. ”timeless beauty referring to love” and yes, i love my boy dearly so what’s there to hide about?! and of course, along the way … I realised that it’s quite a convenient option to pen down my thoughts (not that Im a great writer) so comes the occassional opinions on certain topics that I find appealing. And yes, im a victim of writing about the usual boring rantings/raves about daily life and social gatherings. lol. But for personal thoughts - I still do prefer to discuss and talk it out with friends anyday than just to jote down on the blog.. after all, discussion is something more interactive and conversational.

I like how Juliet sums it up ” but i will always remember that this blog doesn’t replace nor stray from what i am as a person. neither is it aspiring to be a political, social, or even a fashion mouthpiece. it reflects many facets of what i am, and my friends.”

———————————————————————-

On another note, MK’s back to Ngee Ann Poly today to train his juniors in Muay Thai boxing … so accompanied him for awhile before heading home. He’s coming for a slpover again later and to visit Fat girl and her jellybeans. :) Tell me, how can you find such a great boyfriend who’s willing to travel all the way almost daily from Jurong West to AMK just to spend more time together?!

When its quiet and lonely at night, I think of you and knowing that I have you in my life, there’s no fear of loneliness or silence for i can spend just the whole time thinking of how wonderful my life is with your love - im a lucky girl -

.Mother’s Love.

I never thought much of Vesak Day all these years - always just take it as a great chance *public holiday* to relax and chill or perhaps spend a day out with friends but for this year, it’s probably the most memorable Vesak Day that I can ever hope for :)  Fat girl had just given birth to a litter of roughly 10 baby hamsters. That’s a large number of pups that Fat Girl has - can you imagine carrying 10 lil’ pups in that small body of hers? It’s no easy task, RESPECT. However, I know that there’s a possibility that she could eat up a couple of her babies given the fact that she has such a huge litter.

Been by her tank for 5 hours - the entire 2 hours when she was in labour and 3 hours for post-labour. No words can ever describe the tumult of emotions that went through me .. feelings of total happiness for her that she’s giving birth (and in a way, watching the whole birth process … something that ive never seen before and being there to see how she has given birth from 1 pup all the way to 10 pups. It’s an amazing feeling) … yet at the same time, experiencing the feelings of anxiety - not knowing if you can be a capable owner to help ease her pregnancy period. More importantly, through this experience - I really got to see how great a Mother’s Love can be …  Despite being all shagged out and exhausted, Fat Girl still managed to conserve sufficient energy to build up a cozy nest to provide comfort and shelter for her pups as well as breast-feeding all her pups. It’s not easy- being a first-time mummy and having to gather up all our remaining energy towards catering to the needs of not just 1 or 2 pups, but a total of 10 wriggling pups … and not having any help from anyone else. Total respect & admiration that I have for Fat Girl.

It’s unfortunate that MK had to do some visiting on Vesak Day… if not, he would certainly love to be there to witness this really beautiful thing with me.

And what’s daddy *Dustball* doing while Fat girl undergoes through pregnancy?

Yes. Sleeping on a warm Monday morning - just the perfect concoction for a lazy bum sleep lol. Note: He’s in a separate tank since syrians are solitary animals.

So, having 2 furkids is not enough - adding *for now* 10 more little baby pups into our growing ‘family’ !!
Let’s welcome the Vesak Day babies -

.Nothing like a mother’s love.

Yet another set of good news: Finally checked my grades for last semester and I got to say that Im pretty satisfied with it. Didn’t think I would be doing that well for this semester (you know, with distractions from Baby!! haha… more tuition and events planning commitments) and afterall, I did quite poorly for mid-terms for a couple of the modules but surprisingly, it all ended up pretty well. Still maintaining my GPA of 3.42 / 4  :)  good, I hope it remains like this or gets even better! lol. Who doesn’t anyway right?

——————————————————————-

Weekends: Spent with HIM …

All dolled up & ready to meet that special someone … loving this dress too.

Decided to check out Wasabi Tei after reading so much raves about it and despite having to wait for an hour just for 30mins of food. Well, excellent quality of jap food that is. I don’t think I’ve ever waited this long for food at all - however, the maximum time I had to ever wait in a queue was back in Jap DisneySea last yr where I waited an average of 50mins - 1hr45mins each for a ride that probably lasted for only a couple of mins. Talk about the exchange of time.

Me: Sashimi Set : Thick & succulent slices of sashimi. A sashimi lover’s paradise.

Him: Cod Fish set. Simply tasty, I love it. enough said. Planning to whip up cod fish in teriyaki sauce for our next ’stay-at-home cooking’ dish!

Baby in his Police Uniform! Looking smart, that’s my officer boy :)

Careers! Careers! And careers!

Baby just received a letter from the Republic of Singapore Air Force asking him to head down next wk for a rigorious 5hours test for the application of ‘Weapon System Officer’. Nothing’s certain till he sits for the test, gets the results and move on the next phrase of the application. So yup, asking him to go for the test & give it a shot before deciding where to head to after that. Main motivation of signing on would be the money (pretty good starting pay & good annual bonuses) but as we all know, signing on to a military specialist job usually mean a short-lived career span .. often having to retire at the age of 40. So, what’s he gonna do after that? There’s not much relevant experiences with working in the air force too right? In any case, I know that at the end of the day, what baby really wants is to be involved in the business world - especially in the alcohol distribution, nightlife, tourism or even sports industry (even my auntie agreed that he seems suitable in the sports industry) - and to ultimately, set up a business venture of his very own. Being adventurous, he had ventured into organising parties/launch events in clubs and even, an online forum/site during his poly days - sure, there were hiccups, but he’s still determined to excel in his career. :)  Personally for me, I’ve seen the setback -both financially & emotionally- that my parents had encountered when their franchise business venture failed and thus, never exactly develop a sense of entreprenership that an increasingly number of youngsters have these days. Quite relunctant to be risky when it comes to investing money in business ventures - Im actually satisfied with working for people. Not so ambitious? Maybe. I dunno, I believe that money is crucial - come on, everything needs money but somehow, im just not that driven to making lots of money. Give up my social and personal life in exchange of making tons tons of cash? I dunno if Im exactly that kind of person. Just sufficient money to support my lifestyle and a bit of luxury here and there and Im a happy person.

Quite similar, I happened to read this article “Business is in the blood of these 2 poly graduates” from today’s newspaper regarding young but determined entrepreneurs. I find the story on Mr Daniel Charles particularly inspiring … At just 20 yrs of age, he already owned 2 companies in the motor racing businesses - as quoted “one selling motor sports products, and another a 1-mth old service-oriented business bringing the experience of driving anything, from a go-kart to Formula 1 car, to paying clients”. Despite much bumps and hiccups on the way, he stood by his aims and had the last laugh in the end when his company made a turnover of more than $50 000 in 6mths. In addition, his businesses are basically a 1-man show and he has to deal with clients from across the globe - all of these, while still working towards getting his diploma. I might not be like these people but there’s nth I have other than respect for them.

Argh, and it’s back to school tomorrow - terrible!!! I wish the holidays would last longer …

.a foodie affair.

May 17, 2008 · 3 Comments

Finally, satisfying our cravings for oysters (after a long 1mth wait!) … totally delicious.

A great friday with great company - friends! Christine, Samuel & Kristin!!! and also, much of a food fiesta affair for me too … feasting constantly the entire day.

First up, lunch & tea with Chris & Sam  - as usual, it’s always so much fun & laughter with these 2 around. cracking me up non-stop with their funny antics and jokes … And unsurprisingly, with Sam around - it’s always us two gals accompanying him on his various shopping missions. This time round, it’s a casual school bag for him. Such a stark irony considering the fact that it’s always assumed that gals are the shopaholics.

Headed to HOUSE at Dempsey Hills for dinner with Kristin. Nice outdoor ambiance - lush greenary which surrounds the restaurant. Chilled-out vibe. Casual & Breezy. Great service too - friendly and attentive waitresses and 1 of its PR executive (a really chio lady who looks like Andrea Fonseka) even came to our table to attend to any enquiries and also, made the initiative to chat with us. Now, this is what I call great customer service that makes a lasting impression. Food wise, I would say it’s pretty pricey but overall, delicious food that taste healthy & yet tasty at the same time and of course, sinful desserts. Must-tries: Red Snapper Fish Pie, Ratatouille Stuffed Eggplant, Foie Gras Ravioli Consomme, Lemon Macadamia Tart (totally heavenly!!! Im in love with it. ) & Triple Chocolate Brownie. Such an expensive affair - costs a hefty $100 for a dinner for 2 - starting to feel the pinch. Nevertheless, certainly a place that I would be coming back for more.

Heading out to meet up with baby soon (i know, we seem so addicted to each other. 4 days of 24/7 doesn’t seem enough) - window-shopping spree! Great Singapore Sales is coming up in a wk’s time - can hardly wait. I already have a list of items that I would like to purchase, all planned out in my mind.

In the early whee hours of the morning to catch our coach ride to m’sia. Baby and I had a such a busy Saturday and had to run a couple of errands in the night that we didnt even sleep prior to setting off to Malaysia. But it’s alright - made full use of the long travelling time to catch up on some good old’ rest.

Finally, it’s TIOMAN baby!
.Our resort - Paya Beach Resort.

Standard Chalet - that’s very kelong style. Basic but in a sense, different from the usual hotels and resorts that we often stay at during vacations. Rustic…

When dusk falls, such a pretty sight!

Lunch at a friendly local family-operated diner … what else but Malaysia’s famous Ramly Burgers. Absolutely tasty, that we even went back for ramly burgers again for lunch the following day!

It’s Tioman that we’re talking about now, so of course that leaves us with no other option than to head to Paya beach where we enjoyed the sea breeze, clear pristine waters and soft sand. Baby even went on a mini-short snorkelling trip around the surrounding waters and found himself surrounded by a couple of fishes (he was especially fascinated by the rainbow fish that he even tried to chase after it lol).

It’s so cliche but yet, we did what most couples do as hyped up by movies - watching the sunset together. So cliche, but nonetheless- such a beautiful & romantic sight.

Day 2: Snorkelling excursion to Marine Park & Renggis Island. Look at just how clear and pristine the waters are … so blue, and you can even see the rocks & corals that lay underneath the water surface. So picturesque! Makes me just wanting to jump straight into the sea and bask in the warmth of the sun.

cam-whoring during the bum-boat ride, full of anticipation!!!

More breath-taking sights …

Marine Park: Honestly, I expected more from Marine Park but nevertheless, it was still a great experience to been able to snorkel over at there … Lots of fishes and I can’t deny that it’s almost a surreal feeling to be surrounded by the schools of fishes underwater. Feels almost as if we were in an aquarium ourselves.

Try spotting the fishes!

On the other hand, Renggis Island is absolutely stunning… teeming with beautiful & colourful corals, sea urchins, and underwater marine creatures such as angel, buffalo fishes and many other fish species. Apparently, clown fishes, stingrays and harmless sharks are also often sighted around this little tiny island. Too bad that we didn’t managed to spot those.

Local kids having fun building their sand-castle. Lifestyle at Tioman is simply very carefree … laid-back and relaxing. Friendly and helpful locals … Just the perfect place for a beach paradise vacation! In fact, life here kinda remains me of life at p.ubin - super slow-paced and chill lifestyle.

Later in the afternoon - decided to explore the surrounding waters and island. That’s where we headed to! Awesome place - teeming with fishes… these fishes of all varieties flock to you whenever you feed them with bread .. In a way, we felt that it was our very own island … undisturbed, peaceful and quiet.

Dinner at another nearby resort - Tioman Paya Resort. Delicious food at cheap prices. Im so glad that we ventured out of our comfort zone (our resort) and did a little exploring of our own to find this great food haunt. Love the cereal squid and sambal fish!!!

Day 3: Started off the day by feeding our ‘pets at Tioman’ aka fishes just at our doorstep! No dustball & fat girl for us .. but it’s alright - we have our fishes for company! Look at them jostling for the pieces of bread!

Self-loving shots before heading out for more adventure on day 3.

A short jungle trek to find the rock falls. So, here goes nothing …

First attempt : LOST! After 20mins of venturing into the unknown, we found ourselves returning back to the original point where we start out. Even discovered an abandoned house … might be haunted, eerie!

So, more walking and exploring ….

Second attempt: SUCCESS! finally, found the rock falls after a much treacherous hike (much exaggerated). It was certainly worth all the hike and trekking (in our slippers and beach casual outfit! what an attire for hiking huh?). Refreshing spring water and a little spring pool area all to ourselves. :) What else could be better than to cool ourselves down after a hot and exhausting hike right?

Sharing our secret find with an uninvited guest (monitor lizard!). hrmph. Thank god, that it left shortly after.

Fun in the resort swimming pool, where once again - no one else is there and we had the entire pool to ourselves. Bad choice perhaps, because we had such a splendid time together - playing the kids’ pool slide, attempting at sychronized swimming stunts, pushing each other into the pool, competing each other in swimming … I believed that we contributed alot of noise pollution lol* (lots of non-stop laughter and shouts!) … I never knew that one can have so much fun at a swimming pool till that day lol. We reckon that there’s bound to be more visits to Sentosa & Raffles Town Club(for the pool) from this trip onwards!

To end off the entire trip, we decided to pamper ourselves with a little message treat at the resort’s SPA - tropical holistic spa :)  Decided on the “Massage Paya Classic” - relaxing top-to-toe aromatheraphy oil message (with essential oils). A very soothing massage that elevated us to the state of blissfulness and rejuvenation. Wonderful! :) Baby wants more couples’ spa together!!!

More sumptuous dinner at Paya Resort. Last dinner on the island of Tioman :)

Day 4: Time to bid farewell… Cant believe that 4 days just passed by so quickly and now, its time to say “bon voyage”. Had one of the best and most memorable time ever and of course, being there with him makes it all the more significant and unforgettable. All the love in the air, laughter & fun, blissfulness … all on a little tiny island.

Love in Tioman - Just Ming Kiat & Stephanie -
Thank you baby for everything.

This trip certainly affirmed our love for each other even more so than ever - we bring out the best in each other :)  And if not for him, I might have been swept away by the rather strong currents at Pulau Renggis (long story) but we stand by each other and help each other through more challenging periods of our lives. Already, we are looking forward to more trips in the next year … a short m’sia getaway in july/august before I leave for Buffalo … NYC for Christmas at year end (if he can make it) and another trip (maybe, Japan? Cairns, Australia? Koh Samui? ) for our graduation trip next May (me, from UB .. him, ORD) !!! :)  travel, travel, travel !

Baby and I heading off to Tioman for the next 4 days, 3 nights! :)
Can hardly wait.. been anticipating this trip for the past 2mths+. We have to be there at 6am and it’s already 2.45am and baby and i are still awake… doubt that we would be sleeping. Probably slp on our journey there. Moreover, I haven’t exactly got the time to really relax and enjoy the laid-back life of holidays yet, so here’s my only chance. No disturbance from anyone … No worries of work commitments. Just YOU & ME. :) Perfect !!!

.Jialong’s 21st Birthday BBQ.

Yet another 21st birthday celebration. This time round, with my primary school friends - whom I either haven’t really keep in touch with since 2 years back or for some, since we graduated from Ai Tong - that makes it a long 9yrs ago! Many pple seem to be impressed that there are still pple out there who actually keep in touch with some of their primary school friends, which frankly is such a pleasant surprise for me too. Honestly, other than just 1 gal pal… I have totally lost in contact with almost everyone else till 2 years back, Amelia decided to organise an ATS reunion and thats when I began to forge friendships with those friends of mine. Talking about them makes me reminise about the good old’ carefree days of ‘playing catching during recess’ … ‘zero point, hopscotch’ … ‘boys vs girls’ … ‘cheap canteen food’ … etc. Back then, it was all play and hardly much study lol. Anyway, I think I have a failing memorary but somehow, I can’t seem to rmr most of the guys (in fact, i believe that most of my guy friends have since changed drastically in terms of looks and appearances… find it a challenge to put a name to their current mature looks… in my mind, i’ll always rmr them as the pre-puberty and totally naughty noisy boys in class!) . Nevertheless, the gathering turned out to be a huge success, so much laughter and fun moments - makes me anticipating for the next primary school outing lol.

Here’s our birthday boy making his birthday speech!

Chi Guan, Amelia & Yours truly

ATS friends…

On my way to meet babes at City Hall after the party …

Date with Olivia/Juliet…

Finally, settled at chilling out at 1 Night Stand … im becoming more interested in places that have live bands these days and ‘Six at the city’ certainly played great music and liven up the whole ambiance! Count me in again another time man. However, the night didn’t go as well as expected but I suppose there’s always bumps in every friendship and I hope that through sharing and talking things out- it would help improve upon oneself and the quality of the friendship. I just want things to become better…

Met up with Baby after that (such a long night!) for supper at Tong Shui (fast becoming one of our fav late-night haunts) … Aint we behaving just like pigs? Eating NON-STOP all the time lol, it’s really no wonder i’ve been putting on weight lately lol. 2 ‘bad habits’ that I’ve caught from him - eat! eat! food! and cab!!! gosh….

Some of the Richest Heiress across the globe ….
Talk about being rich, beautiful, famous and having everything that you can possibly ask for …
Doesn’t it makes you want to live a life as a heiress just for a day? Well, I would.

Casey Johnson

Heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortunte. Living the fabulous life as an assistant publicist for a major Public Relations company … like all famous and rich person, she does the occasional charity for the less priviledged and even, adopted her very own girl from Kazakhstan.

Georgina Bloomberg

The name “Bloomberg” should certainly ring a bell huh? Daughter of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg who happens to be amongst 1 of the world’s richest people (value at US$11.5 billion). Born with a silver spoon, the girl’s been exposed to an expansive hobby of the rich & wealthy - horse-riding and thus, this explains why Georgina is an awarded equestrian (2-time gold medalist at the North American Young Riders’ Championship) .. so, it aint just looks and fortune for this particular heiress - she has the talents and skills too. lucky eh?

Dylan Lauren

Daughter of fashion designer Ralph Lauren. Inspired by Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Dylan thus decided to turn her fantasy into reality by creating the brand ‘Dylan’s Candy Bar’ and is now a proud owner of 4 candy stores - including a 10,000 square-foot NYC location. Her brand has since expanded to selling apparels, accessories, bags, and a whole line of ancillary products that bears her brand “Dylan’s Candy Bar”.

Amanda Hearst

Absolutely gorgeous, Im pretty sure that she’s one of the current hottest ‘IT socialite’ at the moment. Great-granddaughter of publishing legend William Randolph Hearst(which earns an annual revenue of $5 billion/year!). Works as a fashion model occasionally too. It was reported in Harper Bazaar that the socialite’s annual maintaince run up to an estimated US$ 136,360 (maybe even more) … lucky that she’s born into a filthy wealthy family.

Lydia Hearst-Shaw

I think the Hearst family has beautiful genes. Look at Amanda and Lydia (who are cousins) … absolutely stunning and gorgeous. Similar to Amanda, Lydia has craved a name for herself in the modelling industry by excelling in the runway fashion shows, as well as appearing on both edgy and ever-popular fashion magazine covers such as Vogue. Showing that she’s not just a pretty face, Lydia also partnered up with fashion designers An and Jon to create designer handbags and jeans and hence, reflecting her creativity and fashion style.

Anna Anisimova

Originated from Russia, Anna has since migrated to America. According to many magazine reports, Anna is pretty much the epitome of the ‘IT Socialite’ … quite similar to Paris Hilton- she’s known for being a social butterfly.. non-stop partying, constant shopping, occasional modeling and of course, spending alot alot of her family’s fortune. US$500,000 just to rent a summer house at the Hamptons. $15 million Manhattan apartment. A studio that costs $23 million. A miami penthouse that costs 2.5 million pounds. And the list goes on …. …. warning: it’s a never-ending list of her extravagent purchases.

Ivanka Trump

If I have to choose, Ivanka Trump (IMO) represents the epitome of a socialite. Beautiful looks (model for Versace, Marc Bouwer and cover on mags like Elle, Glamour & Tommy Hilfiger), Tall, Intelligent with brains (she graduated magna cum laude from University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics - Wharton School of Business, the best in the world ). Of course, thanks to her self-made billionaire dad, she’s now the Vice-President of Real Estate Development and Acquisitions at the TRUMP Organisation. An independent lady, she strongly believes in earning her own keeps and not totally depend on her family fortune. Now, that’s an important lesson for the rest of the socialites to learn from.

Needless to say, i would jump at the opportunity to be a heiress even just for an hour.
