.it’s friday with soy.

Fridays are usually reserved for time with baby but now that he aint here, it’s back to girly time with girlfriends! This Friday, it’s with Soy love.

It’s no secret that Haji Lane is viewed upon as a treasure trove for the likes of both fashionista hipsters and indie-label lovers. And I promised myself since ages ago to check out the place for more vintage and one-offs bargains. But somehow, that time has yet to come. So tonight, it’s a walk down Haji lane where all the quaint little shops are closed and the chill-out bars are open for business. Such a pity, wrong time. But I know that I’ll be back trotting the streets of Haji Lane and its neighbourhood for more. SOON.

Meetings with girlfriends always tend to be a combination of sheer fun & being all silly together, as well as having intense deep conversations. Talked about career plans, our goals & dreams, relationships …
This might be along the lines of what I mentioned in 1 of my previous entry but really, sometimes we get so occupied with our current responsibilites that we find it hard to find sufficient time and energy to go about pursuing other other goals in life. Soy’s dream is to design an interactive form of artistic installation that would go on and be exhibited in the Art Museum but somehow, work has sapped her of so much energy that when she’s back home, all she wants to do is to call it a day and have a real good rest. we all know how that feels, dont we? Her dreams shall be shelved aside for now.

Being a student is not easy too. There’s always the constant flow of group projects, individual assignments, tests and exams to be complete … in addition, tuition work and ad-hoc events commitments. Whatever leisure time I have would immediately be spent with either baby or friends. Yes, there’s just not enough time to go about doing everything that one would like to. Now that there’s only a year left to go before I enter the rat race and perhaps get too caught up with climbing the corporate ladder and obsessed with money-making .. I would therefore like to make use of this little time left to pursue my interests.
I first wrote that I wanted to sign up for the “fashion design/dress-making” course at the CC but after much consideration, Im decided against it and am looking at taking elementary french language course at the CC now. Just to give it a shot at learning a new language. NOT that my command of Mandarin is good anyways, should concentrate on perfecting it instead eh?.

I want to know that at the end of the day that I have initiated the efforts and that Im happy with the decisions that I have made in my life thus far.
